Hi JD, This is Shining Fox, formerly of SL. I just read your post for the first time on the now-infamous thread....I don't even remember the name of it.
Thank you for your empathy. I too have noticed that others have been praised for similar advice, but somehow it was anathema when I used it. I freely admit
that I make mistakes, as do we all, but you do have to make a stand against malevolent entities. I was not expecting Wednesday to shoulder the burden for her
problem. I would have taken care of the spirit, myself, and I have had successful experiences doing so, however, the client must learn to be strong if I am to
make any headway. "or else" does sound extreme, and I admit that, but I have taught others to use this line effectively, because once you have said
it, you really have to mean it in your heart and to never back down. Extreme situations many times call for extreme measures, and if you disagree with me, that
is fine. Anyway, I never had a chance to post the rest of my advice which may have shed some light on the situation, but that is in the past. At any rate,
Wednesday didn't seem to be interested in anyone's advice. There is a difference between arrogance and defensiveness, and I was the latter. No one
likes being ganged up on. I felt attacked and violated. I also did not name-call. Saying that I thought people were being petty, etc., is not the same s saying
that they are "effing jerks", or something. Anyway, sorry for beating your ear. I just wanted you to know that I sincerely appreciate your empathy.
Blessings, Shining Fox :)

Reply from FairJD:
Shining Fox, thank you. I jumped in because all the replies seemed to be getting out of hand and there was no reason they should. There were only two words
that anyone objected to and the objections could have been addressed differently. I personally would not use the phrase "or else." The ending phrase
I usually suggest is, "You are not welcome here, please leave now."
Anyway, the ganging up on me after the comment, especially the misunderstanding of what I said; was amazing and alarming enough to cause chest pains in me.
Since then I have had long email discussions with both Raindancer2 and MysticMerlin. Raindancer told me she has read and reread that exchange and has admitted
she should have handled it differently.
OK, my point is; please don't stop posting your comments to the board, I personally enjoy reading them.
